In 2009 the United Nations declared 18 July, Nelson Mandela’s birthday, Nelson Mandela International Day, which is a call to action for people all around the world to make a difference in the places in which they live and work. It is the day that people across the globe band together to serve the communities around them and work towards a better tomorrow. Will you give 67 minutes of your time on Mandela Day to help build a better world?
To celebrate Mandela Day, Desmond Tutu and Mary Robinson spoke with young people from urban charity XLP and Jimmy Carter met a group of young adults being helped by Spear, a free course which helps young people kick-start their career and discussed the importance of volunteering at a public event.
