Gro Harlem Brundtland joins a panel discussion in Berlin to mark 40 years of common efforts for a peaceful, just and sustainable world.

On 31 August, Gro Harlem Brundtland joined a panel discussion entitled: “The legacy of the Brandt Commission: more relevant than ever before?” at a conference hosted by the German Foreign Ministry.

She spoke alongside the Administrator of the UN Development Program Achim Steiner, Minister Advisor to the Government of the Argentine Republic, Susana Malcorra and German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Sigmar Gabriel.

The panel drew lessons from the work of pioneering reports from the Brandt Commission and Gro Brundtland’s own report for the UN in 1987, “Our Common Future”, which helped shape the sustainable development agenda.

Moderated by Dirk Messner, Director of the German Development Institute, the panel discussion was followed by a Q&A session.

A recording of the discussion will be available shortly. In the meantime, join the conversation on Twitter: #Brandt2030
