Africa 2010: A Gameplan for a Winning Continent

On 29 May, The Elders met young Africans from across the continent during a special event in downtown Johannesburg. The aim was to capture the energy and excitement surrounding the World Cup and draw up a 'Game Plan for a Winning Continent'.

The event gathered ideas from around 80 young men and women aged 16-26 on how to better harness Africa’s strengths and build a peaceful and prosperous future for its entire people, as well as identify the obstacles to progress and what can be done to overcome them.
