The Elders are are looking for an exceptional individual to plan and deliver some of The Elders’ biggest communications moments, particularly in relation to our work on the climate crisis.

Role Overview

This role is responsible for planning and delivering some of The Elders’ biggest communications moments, particularly in relation to our work on the climate crisis. The post-holder will plan and deliver creative and impactful long-term projects using a full spectrum of tools and techniques, including social media, live events, partnerships, written editorial and media engagement.   

Reporting to the Director of Communications and working closely with colleagues in the communications and programmes teams, and the Elders themselves, the post-holder is required to be a multi-disciplined advocacy communications professional with experience of working on public advocacy or political engagement with senior public figures. 

 

Person Specification

  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities, and to work under pressure.   
  • A strong personal commitment to the mission and values of The Elders.   
  • A flexible style and willingness to work in a small, collaborative team.    

 

Qualifications

  • Over 8 years’ experience of leading and delivering strategic communications, communications advocacy and/or campaigns communications.   
  • Preferable experience of working on climate change communications and/or a sector or issues related to our work.    
  • A broad knowledge of and expertise in a full range of communications tools, monitoring and advocacy tactics.    
  • Exceptional written ability with demonstrable experience of writing editorial texts for publication and/or senior public figures.   
  • Multimedia skills including demonstrable experience of producing video materials for advocacy communications.   
  • An excellent project manager with demonstrable experience of leading teams to deliver high-profile communications campaigns, events or moments.   
  • Experience of budget and line-management.   
  • Experience of implementing safeguarding and data protection best practice

 

Working at The Elders

This role can be based in the UK, with attendance at our London office in line with our hybrid working policy, or remotely from a location of your choice. Applicants must have the right to work in the country where the role they are applying for is based. A salary and benefits package, relevant to the country in which the post will be based, will be offered.
