Rachel joined The Elders in August 2022 as Head of Human Resources. Her mission is to recruit the best placed talent to join The Elders team and make their experience here a fulfilling one. Rachel previously worked for international charity Girl Effect, looking after employees in the UK, Africa and Asia, and prior to this spent 6 years in a variety of HR and Community Partnership roles at the Arcadia Group.
Rachel studied for a BA in Management at the University of Sheffield. Outside of work she enjoys adventures across London and beyond with her young son, live music and theatre whenever she gets the chance, and ending each day with a chapter of a good book.

John R. Taylor is the President of Wellspring Philanthropic Fund, a private grantmaking foundation based in New York, NY and Washington, DC, dedicated to the effective advancement of social justice. Since co-founding Wellspring in 2000, John has led the foundation’s work to support movements and cultivate accountable social systems and structures that uphold human dignity, strengthen agency, and advance equity for all people.
Prior to his time with Wellspring, John practiced law for 14 years, concentrating on plaintiff’s class action litigation in the Federal (U.S.) court system. His commitment to social justice is grounded in his more than 40 years of involvement in the movement to advance LGBTQ+ rights. John has served on many nonprofit boards, including Human Rights Watch (New York); Haverford College (Haverford, PA); Survivor Corps/Landmine Survivors Network (Washington, DC), the Planned Parenthood Foundation (New York); the Philadelphia Lesbian & Gay Task Force; the Center for Lesbian & Gay Civil Rights (Philadelphia), the Attic Youth Center (Philadelphia); Nine Dots Learning Center (Los Angeles); and The Little Market (Los Angeles). He received a BA from Haverford College and a law degree from Cornell Law School.
