Celebrating Mandela Day by building a better world

Share this:

In celebration of Nelson Mandela’s life and legacy, Mandela Day encourages all of us to make a difference in our communities. In advance of Mandela Day, three Elders will spend time with grassroots organisations in London and speak at a public event about the contribution we can all make to building a better world.

Nelson Mandela Day logoTaking place each year on 18 July, Mandela Day calls on people all around the world to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s life and legacy by serving their communities and taking action to build a better world.

Nelson Mandela devoted 67 years of his life to combating injustice and fighting for human rights. Will you give 67 minutes of your time on Mandela Day to make a difference in your community?

As part of their visit to London, the Elders will mark Mandela Day and encourage the voluntary acts of kindness that can make a positive difference. Jimmy Carter, Mary Robinson and Desmond Tutu will be engaging with a range of grassroots organisations working with and for young people in the city.

Join them for an inspiring afternoon, beginning with a discussion with the Elders about the importance and value of volunteering. There will also be the opportunity to meet and hear directly from the organisations and, in the spirit of Mandela Day, volunteer to help them carry out their transformational work.

Hosted by The Funding Network and taking place in advance of Mandela Day on 4 July in London, the event will celebrate our collective power to do good and inspire change.

When: Wednesday 4 July, 12-2pm
Where: CBI Conference Centre, Centre Point Tower, First Floor, 103 New Oxford Street, London

Tickets are available via The Funding Network. Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the participating charitable organisations.
