Livestream: how can the UN Security Council end mass atrocities?

<p>On 22 September, <strong><a href="http://theelders.org/mary-robinson">Mary Robinson</a></strong> will take part to the UN General Assembly side-event <em>"Preventing and Ending Mass Atrocities: Tools for More Effective UN Security Council Action."</em></p>
<p>This panel discussion will address the progress made and remaining implementation challenges regarding two Codes of Conduct that UN Members endorsed to ensure a more effective UN Security Council action to prevent or end mass atrocities: <a href="https://www.eda.admin.ch/content/dam/mission-new-york/en/speeches-to-th… Accountability, Coherence and Transparency (ACT)</strong> <strong>group</strong> </a>and the joint&nbsp;<strong><a href="https://onu.delegfrance.org/IMG/pdf/2015_08_07_veto_political_declarati… initiative</a></strong> on voluntarily suspending the veto in situations of mass atrocities.</p>
<p>This event will be moderated by Mr. Simon Adams, Executive Director of the <strong><a href="http://www.globalr2p.org/">Global Centre for Responsibility to Protect</a></strong>.</p>
