Ricardo Lagos addressed world leaders, youth advocates, celebrity champions and civil society to reflect on Chile's experience and called for political leaders to make Universal Health Coverage (UHC) their top priority.
The Universal Health Coverage Forum 2017 took place in Tokyo from 12-15 December. It represented a historic opportunity to translate the growing technical knowledge base that supports UHC implementation into political momentum to expand access to health. The Forum coincided with activities around Universal Health Coverage Day (12 December)—the annual rallying point for UHC advocates worldwide—and culminated in this high-level public event on 14 December.
